The Heuers

We took a bit of a hiatus and headed east to the Outer Banks of North Carolina for some R&R in the sun. In the spirit of the Wright brothers and their famed OBX flight, here are some window shots from a leg of our trip out.

Words can’t explain how great this ad is. Dirt Devil meet The Exorcist.

We hit Portland’s First Thursday gallery walk last night; we tend to try and make it out to at least one or two shows each month for these events. They usually tend to be hit or miss like any gallery walk in any city. But last night we stopped off at Blue Sky gallery for Richard Barnes’ show. It was small, but wow it’s the best show we’ve seen since moving to Portland! You can read more about it here.

While in Miami, Hip Hop Fest was in full swing all over South Beach. And the cars! Oh the cars were incredible! Now being back in the land of Volvos and Subarus I’m finding myself missing these sweet gems! Images from www.pimped-out-cars.com

This is so groovy (yea I went there)! The vinyl for The Flaming Lips/ Prefuse 73 collaboration album. For some reason this reminds me of carnival Spin Art, in an awesome way! See more here: http://bit.ly/kWiBLh and learn more about the music here: http://p4k.in/muoD6Q

Star Gazing

I’m a bit of a dork and tend to get more excited about going to space museums or space related IMAX shows than I should let on. It’s not the science, it’s more the awesome reminder that I’m such a miniscule spec in the scope of things. So this photo put together by Nick Risinger, who quit his 9-5’er to travel to locations uneffected by light pollution, is just incredible. Have fun getting lost in the universe! Just returned from a fabulous trip in Miami to trade in some pines for palms and wellingtons for flip-flops. The art deco architecture and especially the typography found on the buildings are amazing!
